«Visiting the Queen of Discipline» Ведущий. Good morning, dear friends! It is a very unusual day today. We are having guests from Great Britain.Ведущая. Queen Discipline & her friends have come to our party.Queen D. Hello everybody! I’ve just come from London. My friends Mr. Order & Miss Education will tell you about the school life & school discipline rules and punishments in G.B.Miss Education. First of all, I’d like to tell you some words about subjects to study in British schools. At the schools of England and Wales there is the National Curriculum. It means that the pupils study the same subjects and the same syllabus. The National Curriculum consists of ten subjects which are compulsory. The main of them are English, Mathematics and Science (which includes Biology, Chemistry and Physics). Everybody must learn them. The other subjects are called foundation subjects. They are Technology and Design, Music, Art, History, Geography and Physical Education. All children from 11 to 16 must learn a foreign language, usually it is French or German.Mr. Order. My servants “Do” and “Don’t” will tell you about school discipline rules in Britain.Do: It is clear that there is no school without discipline rules. So, what English pupils must do:Wear full uniform at all time;Tie long hair back;Give money to their teacher for safekeeping;Be in the yard no earlier than 8:50 am and no later than 9:00 a.m.;Walk;Move around school quietly;Collect their homework in on time.Don’t: And what they must not do:Be late;Wear mousse, gel or hair spray on their hair;Bring jewels to school;Leave money in coat pockets;Bring sweets or chewing gum to school;Leave their homework until the last minute.Ведущий. Oh, so many dos and don’ts! But if a pupil is a naughty one...Mr. Order. Discipline is always connected with punishment. The most popular punishments in English schools are lines, detention, report, exclusion and expulsion.Servant 1. If a teacher gives a pupil “lines” it means that the pupil must write out the same sentence for fifty or a hundred times, for example, “I must not be late”.Servant 2. “To be in detention” means to stay after school to do extra work — lines or another one — for half an hour or so.Servant 3. “To be on report” means that a pupil has a card which he or she gives to the teacher at the end of every lesson. The teacher reports in the card if the pupil has behaved well or badly.Servant 4. Exclusion is the worst punishment in British schools. If a Pis excluded, he or she cannot come to school for a few days or weeks. The pupil’s parents see the headmaster.Servant 5. Expulsion means that a pupil is sent away from his or her school. The pupil has to go to another school where the teachers all know about the bad record.Ведущий. То my mind, in this country punishments are not so strict. But there are some pupils who behave not very well.Miss Discipline. We have brought you some “medicine”. The “medicine” will help you to behave well.Ведущая. Each form has prepared a present for you. So, the pupils of the 2nd form, you are welcome.(Сценка“Little Mouse”.)Little Mouse, Little Mouse, Where is your house? Little Cat, Little Cat, I am a poor mouse I have no house. Very nice of you! Take the medicine and behave well.Ведущая. The pupils of the 4th form like fairytales very much. They have prepared for us a fairytale “The Turnip is Back”. (СценкаThe Turnip is Back)One day Grandfather planted a turnip. The turnip grew and grew till it was very, very big. Grandfather went to pluck it. He pulled and he pulled but he could not pull it out. So he called Grandmother. Grandmother took hold of Grandfather, and Grandfather took hold of the turnip, and they pulled and they pulled but they could not pull it out. So Grandmother called Granddaughter. Granddaughter took hold of Grandmother, Grandmother took hold of Grandfather, Grandfather took hold of the turnip, and they pulled and they pulled but they could not pull it out, So Granddaughter called Dog. Dog took hold of Granddaughter, Granddaughter took hold of Grandmother, Grandmother took hold of Grandfather, Grandfather took hold of the turnip, and they pulled and they pulled but they could not pull it out. So Dog called Cat. Cat took hold of Dog, Dog took hold of Granddaughter, Granddaughter took hold of Grandmother, Grandmother took hold of Grandfather, Grandfather took hold of the turnip, and they pulled and they pulled but they could not pull it out. So Cat called Mouse. Mouse took hold of Cat, Cat took hold of Dog, Dog took hold of Granddaughter, Granddaughter took hold of Old Woman, Grandmother took hold of Grandfather, Grandfather took hold of the turnip, and they pulled and they pulled till at last. . .
