Сценарий праздника –конкурса “Saint Valentine’s Day”.День Святого Валентина- международный праздник любви, который с XIII века отмечают в Европе, с 1777 года – в CША. В России и странах СНГ 14 февраля начали праздновать с начала 1990-х годов прошлого столетия. При всем неоднозначном отношении к этому дню в нашей стране, изучение иностранного языка неотьемлемо связано с изучением самобытной культуры и традиций страны изучаемого языка. Предлагаем Вашему вниманию сценарий праздника-конкурса, посвященного дню Святого Валентина для старших классов общеобразовательных школ.Цель:• Развитие у школьников способностей использовать иностранный язык как инструмент общения в диалоге цивилизаций современного мира.Задачи:• Обогатить знания учащихся о традициях и обычаях проведения “St. Valentine’s Day”, существующих в англоязычных странах.• Развитие интегративных коммуникативных умений общаться на иностранном языке.• Развитие умения устного общения.• Стимулирование интереса учащихся к изучению английского языка.• Развитие умения учащихся участвовать в отдельных элементах драматизации спектаклеи.Good day, my dear friends! We have gathered here to celebrate St. Valentine’s Day! There are two teams and we shall see which team knows more about this holiday. Here are some activities for you:

Here are two hearts with a lot of words on them. Which words can be connected with this holiday? Your task is to put a circle around these words when you find them in the big heart. You may start right now!

If you want to be a good wife or a husband in the future, you should know sweet words to tell to your partner. Now you should name all the sweet words you know, one by one, in teams.

(Команды по очереди называют ласковые слова. Побеждает та команда, которая наберет больше очков. Одно очко-за каждое слово.)

Today we are speaking about love, but what do you think love is like? Answer this question! Continue the phrase: “ Love is…”

Now I see you know what love is and what well-known pairs can you name? (Команды получают сердечки, где написано имя одного из влюбленных, они должны назвать пару.)

Oh, congratulate you, you are good poets. But sometimes we can’t just talk about love, we must show it! So, try to pantomime these words to another team so that they can name them.

We all know about tradition to make Valentine Cards and send them to each other on Saint Valentine’s Day. So, try your best and make such card now. You have only 6 minutes!

(Используя картон, плотную и цветную бумагу, клей, ножницы, фломастеры и свою фантазию, ребята делают валентинки).

Well, don’t you think that it’s time to talk about your love? For this task we need a boy from one team and a girl from the other. And the other way round. But the main task is for boys. My dear boys, take these hearts and you will have some minutes of what you’ll say to your sweethearts.

(Оценивается правильность речи и артистичность).

Each team should draw a portrait of a dream girl. But you should do it all together, one by one adding to the picture, though you won’t see what you are dreaming. (Игроки по очереди, с завязанными глазами рисуют на доске портрет.)

And our last task is called “ Dance Hall”. Take the cards and find your pair. Blue hearts are for boys and pink hearts are for girls.
